What it takes to build a Nationally Scalable Model for Charter Schools
Schools, in other words, are margin businesses, it is difficult to do well and fund the expansion of a margin business. At Rocketship, the reinvention of elementary schools has been made as well as the creation of hybrid, 25% of the online school day are in learning labs while 75% are in traditional classrooms. The first established school is currently based in California; this is out of more than 2000 other low-income schools. In addition, Rocketship has 16 teachers with a vision that, online learning should be made responsible for the majority of basic skills learning. By doing so, teachers will be freer to use classrooms to teach students.
The Intersection of Equity and Personalized Learning
Individual learning leads to the learning gains for each and every student when perfectly done. It gives top performing students and the low performing the same level of attention they get during class time. Today, working hard is no longer the best way to create good equity, therefore, personal learning and effort focus on exactly what the student requires at a time is much more effective. This kind of focus effort shows that students can take maximum advantage of the classroom.
Plans on Opening New Schools
Charter school growth fund alongside other several supporters doesn’t have the need to raise capital to develop new schools. Instead, this support is directed to accelerate school growth and building the capacity to tighten up mode schools. Furthermore, the supporters are investing more in the online learning, development of strong leadership, hybrid school platform, and education and empowerment of parents to transform public schools. Indeed, Rocketship is expanding rapidly while opening one or more schools every year.
